We are deeply saddened by
the loss of Madaline Pratt, age 88,
who went home to be with our Lord on Thursday July 22, 2010.
Madaline was the wife of our past director Edwin B. Pratt (from

Carol Pratt
Zimmerman
It is with regret that we announce the resignation of Carol
Pratt Zimmerman. A familiar face at camp, she has made many
contributions over the years. Carol's father, Edwin Pratt, was
the director at camp from the 1940’s through the 1960’s. Carol
spent her summers at William Lawrence Camp as a child and has
remained a part of the camp family for most of her life. She
returned to the Knoll in the late 90’s to spend her summers at
camp as a volunteer and has been a member of the Board of
Trustees and most recently a Member of the Corporation. Carol
has been a familiar face greeting families upon their arrival at
camp and has been a help in ways both large and small. We had
hoped that Carol would continue her relationship with camp and
were disappointed to receive the following correspondence on
April 14:
To: Mr.
Charles Cleary
President, William Lawrence Camp
Dear Charlie,
Effective immediately, I am resigning as a Member of the William
Lawrence Camp Corporation.
My thanks to all the Trustees, present and past, for giving me
so many years of happiness on the knoll. I know all of you will
continue to take very special care of William Lawrence Camp as
the 98th Season begins and you plan for the next 100 years.
I have many wonderful, happy memories! The William Lawrence Camp
Spirit will always be in my heart!
With Sincere Respect,
Carol Pratt Zimmerman
Dear Nat,
Effective immediately, I am resigning from the William Lawrence
Camp Staff.
I wish you, the campers and staff a very successful 98th season
on the knoll!
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the camp program for
so many years. The camp,
you and your family
will always have a very special place in my heart.
Best Regards,
Carol Pratt Zimmerman
People, whether they have been at camp for a long period of time
or have had a relatively short tenure, are what sustain William
Lawrence Camp. As we recognize Carol’s service to camp, we hope
that alumni, families and friends will likewise support us in
assuring the continued success of camp.
Charles Cleary, President
On behalf of the WLC Board of Trustees
"For Lawrence We Stand, It Is The Best Camp In The Land!"
