Our Mission and Philosophy

Building Character Every Day

William Lawrence Camp offers a world-class camp experience for young boys and teens. The combination of our beautiful, rural setting, multitude of camper activities, and extensive campus guarantees your son will enjoy a camp experience that will create memories to last a lifetime.

William Lawrence Camp is an independent, not-for-profit organization; our entire focus is on providing an extraordinary experience for your child that will benefit him for years to come. We believe that the best way for boys to learn is through being active, especially while surrounded by natural beauty.

OUR MISSION

“Through a fun, balanced program, in a camp family atmosphere with positive role models, William Lawrence Camp encourages the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of the whole boy in a caring, nurturing, spirited, challenging, yet safe environment. While allowing a kid to be a kid, the camp seeks to enhance positive values and skill development leading to a productive and responsible adulthood.

The camp experience builds character and fellowship, provides new and different experiences, improves group living skills, provides an opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and countries, and fosters an appreciation of nature and the environment. Each camper is encouraged to increase self esteem, realize his potential, share and develop his personality, develop lasting friendships, and become a part of the camp family, which many consider a second home.”

Are We the right Fit?

William Lawrence Camp is a place where boys can grow at their own pace while being part of a supportive and active community. Some campers arrive eager to jump into every game. Others take time to find their rhythm. Both belong here.

We believe camp works best when families value character, participation, and a summer spent outdoors and unplugged. Growth can look different for every camper. For some, it means deep friendships. For others, it means quiet confidence or the courage to try something new.

Choosing the right camp matters. We invite you to learn more, ask questions, and see if WLC feels like the right fit for your family.

My son said the total break from technology was awesome. He also said that while he was at camp he didn't think about having ADHD the whole time--it's something that he usually thinks about and feels like it make him "different" or at a disadvantage. He said it was the first time in a long time that he just felt like "one of the guys/a normal kid." I can't even begin to explain what a huge gift that was to Jack (and to us as parents); he just just to be an unencumbered, happy boy!!
