In their own words

What Parents Notice After Camp.

Parents describe new friendships, greater independence, time away from screens, and sons returning home with stories they are eager to tell.

My son was very hesitant about going. The fact that he met us at the car to ask to stay for 3 weeks says a lot!. Car ride home he talked it up so much that his brother wants to go. His words: "every adult was great, food was amazing, made new friends, made fires, and level 3 archery" - what could be better?

My son said the total break from technology was awesome. He also said that while he was at camp he didn't think about having ADHD the whole time--it's something that he usually thinks about and feels like it make him "different" or at a disadvantage. He said it was the first time in a long time that he just felt like "one of the guys/a normal kid." I can't even begin to explain what a huge gift that was to [our son] (and to us as parents); he just got to be an unencumbered, happy boy!!

Camp got our son to try new activities in a fun and supportive environment. He expanded his interests and goals and his confidence and independence grew so much!

Laura S., Parent

As a first-time parent, we were so excited when our son had stories, traditions, and experiences to share with us at pick-up. This camp is a special place with counselors who really care and the sheer number of traditions and customs made it so unique. My son can't wait to come back!

This place is gold! Every young man should be given at least two weeks to experience the brotherhood, achievements, mayhem, mania, stepping outside of comfort zones, unplugging, teamwork and friendship of [William Lawrence Camp]. [William Lawrence Camp] for life!!!!! Thank you for what you do for our young men. Life changing.

After my son achieved woodsman, he was talking about it and said "I realized I can do hard things"
